“Candongueiro” is the name of the typical taxi in Angola.
There are two guys managing the candogueiro: the driver and the speaker. The second one tells you the final “station” out loud, to all potential clients that are near the street. What I’ve heard most was :
- “Mutamba!” (City centre)
He also receives your money ticket.
Actually, there’s no physical ticket, but you can go everywhere from the city centre to other places in Luanda, changing candongueiros and paying 200 Akz (each trip).
There’s always music on the radio or in a pirate CD, and most popular songs are from national artists of Semba, Kizomba and Kuduro.
